How are Property Taxes Calculated?

The taxes are computed by multiplying the assessed value of the property less any tax exemptions by the millage rate. Tax exemptions are usually for religion, senior citizens, homestead, disabilities, and so on. The millage rate refers to the amount of tax levied per $1,000 of taxable value.

How to Pay Property Taxes in Alachua County?

There are several ways to pay your property taxes in Alachua County after you receive your bill. You can pay with credit, PayPal, debit, or electronic checks in person at the Alachua County Tax Collector's Office or online on the Tax Collector website. You can also enroll in the Installment Payment Plan if you don’t want to pay all taxes at once on condition that your preceding year’s taxes exceed $100.00.
