Florida Property Appraiser

Putnam County Property Appraiser

In Florida, the Property Appraiser is an independent constitutional officer elected by the citizens and taxpayers. Timothy E. Parker, C.F.A. is the Putnam County Property Appraiser. The Putnam County Property Appraiser is responsible for identifying, locating, and valuing every property within Putnam County for tax purposes. In addition, the Property Appraiser is also in charge of administering applications for tax exemptions from property owners and keeping track of changes in properties.

According to Florida law, the Property Appraiser should inspect all properties in the county at least once five years and assess the value of every property as of January each year. Three methods are used by the Property Appraiser to appraise the properties. The Cost Method considers the cost of building a structure like yours at the current material and labor prices. The value of the land itself should also be considered. The Sales Comparison Method is used to determine the property values by analyzing the sales of similar properties in your neighborhood. The Income Method is based on the revenue the property could produce if it is rented as a store, apartment, hotel, etc.
