Florida Property Appraiser

Manatee County Tax Collector

Property taxes usually refer to Ad valorem taxes, which are calculated based on the appraised value of real estate, tangible personal property, and centrally assessed property. The Property Appraiser determines the appraised value, the taxing bodies set the millage rates, and the Tax Collector levies the taxes. There are also some tax exemptions like homestead that are dealt with by the Property Appraiser.
