Florida Property Appraiser

Marion County Tax Collector

The Property Appraiser calculates the taxes due by multiplying the property value less any exemptions by the millage rate. The property value and exemptions are determined by the Property Appraiser, and the millage rate is set by tax authorities in the county. Then the Property Appraiser establishes the Tax Rolls and certifies them to the Tax Collector for collecting taxes.

Taxes are due on November 1 and become delinquent on April 1. Early payment will get certain discounts (4% discount in November, 3% discount in December, 2% discount in January, 1% discount in February, gross amount in March).
