Florida Property Appraiser

Martin County Tax Collector

Property taxes are based on the property value and are paid in arrears. The Property Appraiser determines the value of the property and administers tax exemptions, and the taxing bodies in the county set the millage rates. The tax year is from January 1 to December 31. Then the tax roll is established by the Property Appraiser and verified by the Department of Revenue. The Property Appraiser certifies the tax roll to the Tax Collector for collection.  The Tax Collector mails the tax bills to the property owners on or about November 1 each year. Early payment will have certain discounts as follows: 4% (30 days after the date of the initial mailing), 3% (December), 2% (January), 1% (February), 0 (March).

Please note that taxes become delinquent on April 1. In this case, 3% interest plus advertising costs are imposed.

How to Use Property Tax Search and Pay?
