Florida Property Appraiser

Santa Rosa County Tax Collector

The Tax Collector is responsible for collecting ad valorem taxes for real estate and tangible personal property on a yearly basis starting on November 1st for the tax year January through December. The ad valorem taxes are calculated based on the value of the property. The assessed value is determined by the Property Appraiser, and the millage rates are set by the levying bodies in the county. Using these figures, the Property Appraiser prepares the tax roll and then certifies it to the Tax Collector. The tax bills are mailed out by the Tax Collector on or before November 1 each year.

Property taxes are due by March 31 and become delinquent on April 1. A 3% penalty will be imposed if your taxes are delinquent. If you pay property taxes early, you will get certain discounts (4% if paid in November, 3% if paid in December, 2 % if paid in January, and 1% if paid in February).
