Walton County Tax Collector
The Tax Collector is responsible for collecting property taxes on an annual basis. You receive your tax bill in November each year and should pay taxes as of March 31 of the following year. Property taxes become delinquent on April 1. The earlier you pay your taxes, the higher discount you will get (4% discount if paid in November, 3% discount if paid in December, 2% discount if paid in January, 1% discount if paid in February). There are three methods of paying property taxes - online payment, in-person payment, and payment by wire.
You can also apply for an installment payment plan by April 30 to pay your property taxes quarterly. The requisite for the plan is your property taxes of the prior year must exceed $ 100.00 and not be escrowed by the Mortgage Company.
